1. What does it cost to use Netplan's services?

Our rates depend on which consultants are involved in the project, the size of the project, how the project is managed etc. We are always working on basis of a written contract. In that way we make sure that we describe what we deliver and at what cost.

2. Is it worth while using consultants?

We will - of cause - always answer that question with Yes - not only because we are consultants. In the majority of our projects it is possible to directly link the project cost to savings that more than balance the cost of our work. The reason is that our skilled and experienced consultants use their knowledge in contract negotiation, frame contracts, service level agreements etc., leading to better and more transparent quotes, shaved down to only the essentials. Further we know the often complex discount and pricing systems that operators use, leading to more efficient and more cost effective contracts.

Last but not least, our advice may often prevent you form buying a pig in a poke. Our experience is that many customers do not even realize that they sign a dubious contract until the operator sends the bill - and then it is too late.

3. Can I get a discount?

Yes - but it depends on the project. The more concentrated the project is, and the less off-duty time we spend - the more efficient can we conduct a project, and this - of cause will be in the benefit of the customer - also when it comes to the total project cost. Customers in the Public Sector in Denmark may benefit from the so-called SKI frame contracts, offered by the National Procurement Office.

4. In which countries is Netplan working?

Netplan's main focus is in the Scandinavian and (Northern) European region, but we operate world wide. In Denmark we operate nation wide, with our main office located north of Copenhagen and a branch office in Ry outside Aarhus in Jutland. Currently we also have projects in the following countries: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Greenland, the Baltic countries, England, Zambia, Mozambique and Bolivia.

5. Who is behind the company?

Netplan is a privately held stock company, owned by its founder MSc.EE Torben Rune, and a number of leading employees - the partners. Netplan has a professional board consisting of managing director Erik Svaneborg, computer science specialist Bent Bæk Jensen, MSc. PA Morten Kjeldgaard, BSc. EBA & MSc IT Thomas Dall-Arnesen and MSc. EE Torben Rune.

6. What is Netplan's relation to the telecom operators?

As a natural consequence of our involvement in major purchase projects in the telecom sector, the leading telecom operators are very well aware of us. An operator losing a large contract in some cases tries to find the explanation outside his own organization. Sometimes this leads to a debate - and sometimes a debate that is public. In several articles in the Danish and international press, Netplan has discussed various topics in the industry. We are not always agreeing with the industry, but even if the debate seems harsh, we have an excellent relationship with the operators and the industry.

7. Are you nerds?

Yes - we are geeks. But we are also good process consultants. We gladly admit, that our technical knowledge is on "nerd" level - and beyond. Unfortunately only a few consultants in the business are proud to be geeks - or as we prefer to express it - to be well founded. We are proud to be geeks because our consultants can convert knowledge to usable information for our customers.

8. Is Netplan helping small companies?

Yes - the size of the customer has nothing to do with our assistance.

9. Where does the news on Netplan's website come from?

All Netplan consultants are writing articles and news for our web pages. Typically we are commenting on current stories in the press, press releases, articles in the press, or we write our expert experiences to the benefit of everyone caring. Many readers find our Web a great and free help. We have around 50,000 different readers per month.

Most of the articles on our website are in Danish - with only a few exceptions. We are working on orientating our articles towards a more international public, and we intend to do so starting by summer 2007. If you do not find what you are looking for, or if you find something that looks interesting to you - and you can not read it - just grab your phone and give us a call. Everyone in Netplan speaks and writes English fluently - so just call us.

10. Which products does Netplan sell?

The answer is simple: We do not sell anything but advice. As a neutral and unbiased consulting company, we do not find this role compatible with dealing products or developing programs or systems. We are aware of other consulting companies that do not share this viewpoint but we believe strongly that independency is to the benefit of the customer. If you ask Netplan a question, answers are based on knowledge and experience - not on how much we could sell you besides the advisory services.

11. How old is Netplan?

Netplan was founded June 1st 1994.

12. What are the comapny's relations to the IT-business?

Netplan is a member of ITEK under Dansk Industri and Dansk forening for konkurrenceret.

13. Are Netplan's consultants certified by Microsoft, Cisco ...?

Certifications from various companies can be a very good way to ensure a high level of expertise for the certified consultant. In Netplan we are focused on the telecom market in general, and certifications do not have a major importance. However, we do have Cisco Certified Internetwork Experts (CCIE) in our staff.
